Michael: This is Must-Know Danish Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 11. In this lesson, you'll learn Common Slang Adjectives.
Michael: Be careful not to use these in front of the person you are describing!
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
Michael: The expressions you will be learning in this lesson are:
Anna: kanon
Anna: fed
Anna: lækker
Anna: syg
Michael: Anna, what's our first expression?
Anna: kanon
Michael: literally meaning "cannon." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "fantastic."
Anna: [SLOW] kanon [NORMAL] kanon

Michael: Use this slang expression when you want to emphasize how great someone or something is or was. You can use it on its own or add it at the beginning of a noun or an adjective.

Michael: "Did you watch the match yesterday? It was fantastic!"

Michael: literally meaning "fat, fatty, greasy." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "cool, very good."

Michael: Use this slang expression when talking about someone or something you think is cool or very nice. Be careful when using this to describe people, they might misunderstand and think you are calling them fat.

Michael: Use this slang expression when you want to describe the looks of someone as hot or gorgeous.
Michael : Now, let's hear an example sentence.

Michael: "The lead singer is pretty hot."
Anna: [NORMAL] Forsangeren er ret lækker.

Michael: literally meaning "sick, ill." But, when it's used as a slang expression, it means "cool, crazy, very."

Michael: Use this slang expression when talking about someone or something that you think is extremely cool or crazy, like its English counterpart "sick." You can also use it to emphasize another adjective. In this case, it works as a very strong "very."
