Handball is the 3rd most popular sport in Denmark. There are over 140,000 registered players and the Danish male and female national teams have won gold several times.

Gymnastics is the 4th most popular social sport in Denmark. 2% of Danes practice gymnastics and it’s also part of the national kindergarten curriculum. The DGI or Danish Gymnastics and Sports Association holds a massive meet every 4 years where Danes gather from the entire country. In the 2009 meeting, 21,000 athletes participated.

Badminton comes in at 5th place in popularity with a little over a 100,000 registered club members. Denmark is the strongest European badminton country. The Danes have won 11 gold medals in badminton on the world level, one of which was an Olympic medal, won in 1996 and the only European gold badminton medal to date.
